SUMMARY

Perform timely and accurate processing of multi-state payrolls, and maintain employee payroll data. Work independently to identify issues, confirm reasonableness of data, and respond to employee questions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform daily data entry of payroll exceptions, analyze and process historical data change requests (includes performing pay calculations, determining appropriate rules, calculating shift differentials) handle ad-hoc check and off-cycle payment requests ensuring appropriate action is taken.

  • Audit employee time records for completeness and reasonableness.Adjust and sign-off on time records, review and reconcile variances using tools provided.

  • Research, analyze, and resolve payroll-related inquiries.Ensure timely identification of issues and escalate as appropriate.

  • Maintain and manage employee records for funding payments and other related data into payroll systems.

  • Perform compliance reviews for unclaimed property payroll checks.

  • Deliver fast and accurate work in a high volume environment; ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.

  • Provide excellent customer service, recognizing that all communications with employees about pay data must be handled with sensitivity and urgency. Maintain open communications with all levels of the organization as necessary to ensure accuracy of payroll processes

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

     

     

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices, including multi-state payroll, wage and withholding orders, and an understanding of proper taxation of benefits and wages

  • Ability to analyze and interpret information and perform payroll calculations.

  • Working knowledge of payroll software, time keeping, systems query and various computer applications.

  • Effective interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.

 

 

Requirements

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma required. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred

  • Minimum of three years of experience in payroll processing with exposure to high employee volume (over 20,000).

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to exercise independent judgment, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must have a strong work ethic and be very dependable.
